Schafer Silvertip Longbow
« on: April 01, 2011, 08:17:00 PM »
I really need some help. I have a chance to trade one of my B/W's for a 64" Silvertip Longbow. Does anyone have any experience with one of Dave's longbows? If so what opinions have you formed regarding same? Any and all info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Regards,
Grouse

Have 8 Hill/style longbows only over the past 34 years & can't get rid of any. When you find something that works. Schafers would be my pick of recurves. Don't think you could make a mistake either way.

They are great longbows; I have had mine for about ten years.  Comparing them to a Widow is like comparing apple and oranges; they are both good but different.  Mine is a little faster then the PL's I have shot and the grip is completly different.

Andy is right, Dave and Beth are great to work with.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I have a 64" Schafer 1 pc LB. 51# @ 28. Beautiful bow shoots real smooth and quiet. You are fortunate to have found a trade like that.
