SAIII BW Crazy!
« on: April 02, 2011, 10:22:00 AM »
Ok let me start off my day today was Amazing! I woke had an awesome cup of coffee think it was Columbian think I tasted the aged old hands that plucked the beans. I awaited the mail lady for which i meet for daily deliveries. My Arrows, Sweet! I had recently purchased Arrows from a fellow TradGanger, I tore the box and went to grab my new 96 Black Widow psaIII which I found on another site cheap a few Months ago. I grabbed the bare shaft and drew back and smack the freak arrow flew like a Dart blowing threw my Target and skiped though my newly plowed Garden awaiting seed for the fall bounty to come. Amazing right. My biggest fear was to purchase arrows from an online forum. You know sight unseen it scared me, but I needed Arrows I had been flinging blunts and 2117 shafts at everything.
I ran in got on the Computer and sent a pm to my new friend that sold me the arrows. I went to his page and requested a friendship when I noticed something strange his email Address was Mark Crissey. Why did that sound so familiar? This guy lived in the south I'm from Ohio, I'm mean I've been in archery for 26yrs met tons of great people all over the country. Well let that dwell in my mind back to shooting my Widow. Feather Time these arrows were Mfx carbons footed with 2018 shafts 5" shield cut. I was smoking the target! I'll tell you this every since the day i bought this bow it was like a piece of me I would leave my girlfriend hands down and she just killed her second buck over 150" serious I love it. No, No she'd kill me with it...LOL As I knelt to pic up the arrows out I look at the beauty of the tight group and gandered down to look at the Widow. Hun whats this Mark Crissey.. WHAT double take What! I bought this bow from a guy in Columbus, Ohio 3 Months ago.
I rushed back to the lap top, Buddy you won't believe this i think I got your bow! Hun? Ya these arrows are bad man and ever since i seen your name when we did the transaction I'd been puzzled, why had I herd that name. Well duh I'd been shooting this Widow for months staring at this name on my bow. Seems he had sold it, then i bought it, and some how some way the lord only knows I brought the bows arrows back to it again. Amazing

This is just to show how small our world is and how a awesome traditional sport we have with the Heritage of our countries Bowyers its a part of all of us and to those to come.
Thank you for enjoying my story, Hippie Chris

Chris, we have to meet in person someday. My son told me as many bows as I go through it's not really that surprising.
That is a great bow and obviously shoots those arrows well.
Happy hunting !

I bought the bow about 2 years ago. Hunted pretty hard with it, managed to take a couple deer and small game. I sent it back to BW and had them refinish it and put my name on. I had no intentions of getting rid of it .... that did not last, as I have a problem like many others on this site. I have new bowitis. I sold it on another site to a guy in Ohio who obviously did not keep it long. I should have kept it and just got new limbs.

It is 56" PSAIII and I draw 29 so it was a bit short. I preferred shooting a dacron string with but the D-97 worked fine also.
Great bow with some good mojo.

I am shooting 5" groups @ 20yrds and i really am just getting used to it, My trad buddies are now looking for widows because I shoot the lights out with mine! Turkey season is soon and this bow is a Killer so I'll post pics of it's future trophy's and I'll have it for the rest of my life, took me 15yrs to finally get the bow of my dreams just so happy I can learn about the life it had in the past and I know it's future will be legendary!
Thanks for enjoying my story and look forward to many more. Hippie Chris
