Ideal arrows
« on: April 06, 2011, 03:10:00 PM »
Hi I am shooting a 62" ILF recurve with 35# @28 with 26"DL. I want to get some fast and straight flying arrows for field target shooting/3d.

I am told I should go for 600 spine arrows but have a few questions:
1. Weight of the tip 75 or 100gr?
2. Shaft gpi
3. arrow length.
4. Any specific arrows/brands you can recommend

THANKS.
Thanks
K

st epic 600s is what the bow shop guy told me for my 35#  with 100 gr. tip they are 6.4gpi i have 2 left and they weigh around 324gr. at 30 3/4 with the 100gr. tips and 3 4in. parabolic feathers i think they would fly better with the wt tubes in they are fast and flat shooting
im new to all this so i realy dont know
but thats what the bow shop guy made me for my bow good luck enjoy

Targets3D,

1. proper tuning will tell you which tips to use. With a plunger, you have more latitude since you can fine tune with spring tension. For your purposes, I would try to go as light as possible.

2. As light as possible. With the type of bow you're using, and only pulling 35#, you probably won't be able to find an arrow light enough to hurt it without spending a bunch of money. Stay at or above 7gpp (245 grains) ans you should be fine.

3. Proper tuning will determine this.

4. I believe Gold Tip makes a lightweight shaft in 1535 (.600 spine) but I'm not positive. You may even be able to go to a spine weaker than that with a light enough tip.
