I think the Axis 400's will be to heavy of a spine....FWIW, Im shooting CX Heritage 150's(.487 spine) and GT 35/55 Traditionals(.500 spine) with a 145gr point weight.

Excellent bow, my favorite of the metal riser Hoyts, and I have two Excels!  I think you might be better off with .500 spine arrows though, .400 even left long will be way too stiff.  BTW, one of my Excels is 45# and I use .500 spine arrows.

Ok but on Easton shaft selector, 400 spine is recommended......

Easton charts are good for compounds not stick bows. The 500 or even 600 spine is what you need.

I love mine!  I'm shooting Beman MFX Classics 400's w/ a 125 grn field point and a 50 grn insert.

It has been a good combo for me!

I have a 45#er and it shoots the GT 5575 31.5"s long from valley to insert. using a 50 grain brass insert and a 145gr 5/16ths field point. And they fly great. My brace height is just a hair over 7.5 and nock point is a smidge under 1/2" high.

Willhunting,

My bow is 45#.  I've been shooting good and looking forward to Traditional Only 3D league starting on the 23rd.

Hope my brother/team partner has been shooting as much as I have!
