String for a Damon Howatt Balboa?
« on: April 25, 2011, 01:04:00 PM »
I have a friend who is wanting to give his first recurve to his nephew to shoot. The bow is a Damon Howatt "Balboa" and is 58" in length and 50 lbs @ 28". I am assuming that since this is an older bow the string would need to be a dacron or other non low stretch type string. I know there are several folks here who make strings, who should I suggest he contact about getting a replacement string for this bow?
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.
