Fathers day gift now a knife---w/pic's
« on: June 21, 2007, 10:44:00 PM »
We all no what the knife blank looked like before we started but for reference

following a couple of buildalongs on this site I began with caution.

knife ready to take blade and tang, and trimmed to a workable shape

Now I moved on to make the handle take a more realistic shape and get it ready to go into the sheath.

Sand and sand and sand, shape and shape and soon the handle really takes shape and with a little finish sanding the handle is smooth as a babies behind.

Last we add the finish and the cap on the butt of the tang. A couple coats of spar and the knife shines like new money. It came out better then I ever dreamed. I am one happy dad with this one.

The Helle knife is a real piece of work. The blade came scary sharp and beautiful. All the parts that you need to take project to completion comes with the kit. The handle blank was a work of art and really set off the project. This knife is such a compliment to my new bushwacker bow that I may just look at it and not really use it. **not***

Thanks Mike and Jason for such a wonderful product and great work.

VERY NICE. It's great when a man and his son get to share the same hobbies. You're a lucky man T-Mac.

How about a pic with it and the bow together?

Looks Good!  Mine is about finished as well. I've been spraying finish on it this evening and I intend to complete it tomorrow, after Dad and I go shoot a 3D Shoot together.
