Starting Youth Programs? (JOAD/ASAP)
« on: May 03, 2011, 04:56:00 PM »
I realize that JOAD is definitely geared towards the target/olympic stuff...and I have to assume ASAP is as well.

My area is such that if any archery program takes off I'm sure it will be geared towards hunting. I know as a leader my goal and intention would be to get the kids in the woods with their parents or other trustworthy adults.

(I hope that makes this a permissible post.  If not, have at it mods   ;)   .)

My question is if anyone has experience with these organizations.  Is there enough flexibility in the programs to allow for something like this or is it so regimented that you're just out of luck if your focus is hunting/3-D/stumping?

Are there other larger organizations out there geared more towards the hunting aspect?

I thought 4-H did an archery program...but found nothing about it online. Not sure how that would work.
