A Firefly Bow TRIPLE PLAY...and something new too!
« on: May 03, 2011, 05:08:00 PM »
Hello Trad Gang,

Jim at Firefly Bows has been busy and I wanted to show off some of his recent creations.

First is a bow I have been referring to as the "Eye Popper".  This may be the most stunning Firefly I've ever seen.  I'll admit I've had it a while, mainly because I couldn't decide whether or not I was going to let this one go!  :D   She's a Route 66 model, brown dymondwood and brandywine dymalux with yellowheart accents and waterfall bubinga veneers.  Here's the eye candy on that one.  It's 64" AMO and 52# at 28".

Next up are two more Route 66 models, and while they are a little similar in appearance they utilize completely different materials.  Both of these bows have a new feature, the limb bolts sit flush against the limb face, creating a very clean look.

The first is canarywood with gray actionwood riser accents and canarywood veneers, she's 60" AMO and 48# at 28".

Last but certainly far from least is another Route 66 with a longer 17" riser made from laminated oak with bloodwood riser accents.  She has tamo ash veneers and also features flush limb bolts, 64" AMO and 50# at 28".

Enjoy!  Tim @ Braveheart

I like the little changes to the riser lines on these new 66's over the early ones.

I have yet to find a better shooter than these bows...got two of the route 66ers in the low wrist design and love them! They have just the right amount of r/d and are very well behaved, string up pretty much D...draw smooth as butter, with no vibration on the shot.... forgot to mention they are quick also...... Jim does all the little extras...caps the limb pockets with phenolic for extra strength, adds brass bushings in the alignment holes and finishes off with outstanding craftsmanship...shoot one and you'll be hooked.
