AGE OLD DEBATE, but NEED INPUT
« on: June 22, 2007, 10:44:00 PM »
I currently own the Grizzly and Eclipse 2 blade, Razorcap 3 blade, and Eclipse 4 blade. I only hunt hogs and whitetail. I know the 2 blade is the best option for hogs, but what is the best option for deer? Also which 2 blade for hogs do you perfer. Just case, I shoot 50# @ 28".

Shoot the one you have the most confidence in and flies best from your set-up. They'll all do the job so long as you do yours.

The thing is they all fly the same, GREAT. Have to plug my bow, Mentor by Wes Wallace. This bow is SMOOTH and FAST. Shoots anything I put on it perfectly.

After mamny years of hunting I have two favorites, the Muzzy Phantom and Razorcaps. Woodsmans or four  blade Muzzy with replaceable bleeder blades would be next in line One head I have not tried but want to get my hands on is the new Hellrazor by NAP. They make excellent heads.

I would opt for whichever you like. They are all good heads.  It makes little or no difference if they are all flying well.

I'm using Bear Razorheads, and have been for eons, so I can speak of their effectiveness.  I would probably go with a conventional style like the Eclipse.  I'm not much for modular heads of any kind, mostly because they are expensive..relative to what they do.

I like the old mousetraps too.

If they all fly good, then use whatever you want on deer. The key is  where   they hit the animal anyway.

I have been shooting the same brand bow for 25 years. In that time I have used a dozen differant kind of broadheads. They all get it done when you put it in their lungs.
