Broke elbow in bow arm. I had two screws. I think I was out about 3 months and then very low poundage.

Ouch! You're more scuffed up than I was. I had a disc removed from my lower back in February and (without any special permission) was shooting again in under a week.

Having hAd shoulder surgeryva few yrs ago and elbow surgeryvthis spring i certainly feel for ya as the reco ery period an be painfully slow.

The time you really need to be careful is when you're feing better and things begin to quit hurting. That does t mean youre fully healed and you are really more susceptible to re-injury. I pushed myself as much as I could in PT but careful not to overdo it listen to your body.

My doctor and physical therapist really yank the old arm around, every chance they get, so I guess they are pretty confident in the recovery. LOL

Be careful out there guys. Since I broke the arm I tend to strike up conversations with everyone I see in casts, and I am constantly amazed at how easily we break and a lot of times doing silly things.

I have to admitt that I was distracted when I had my accident. So heads up this season whether it's setting up stands, blinds, or whatever.

Hey guys,

Well, I've worked up to 51# since my accident and I'm knocking them down again. Feels good and holy smokes do I love shooting bows!!! The sound of those arrows zipping through the air cannot be beat.

I'll probably stay at that weight for now and maybe forever.

The arm is still not quiet 100% but I'll get there and I think the shooting is actually helping. Still taking it slow though.

They do tend to have their jollies with us in rehab once they're sure the healing is done...then stretching and strengthening is a pain-filled process! Gads!

Glad to read you're coming along. 51# with a well tuned arrow and super sharp bh will do you just fine!

I've been there more times then I want to, because I am an MS patient. Believe when I say that I've been to hell and back. I also displaced my collarbone and all muscles once due to a fall and even lost the eye-sight to one eye for a long while.

But I stood my ground, fought back, fought myself out of the wheelchair and now I am shooting the bow with great pleasure. Even big tournaments in the woods. Over several weeks I will move over to a 51 lbs bow.

So hang in there bro, stay positive and don't look at the things you can't do anymore, but look at the things you CAN do. Count your blessings!

Good luck and best wishes for a. Speedy recovery. I just learned to ride a friend has 2 horses a mustang and a quarter horse. Both of them get nervouse when they come om towater.the mustang bucked Me off.a deer jumped. Up.I love to ride but they are a bit on the dangerous side.
