Oooooh don't you worry, he's ready, you just might want to think about wearing a diaper, all baits under 10 yards from a ground blind!!!! Put one camera out tonight & started using sow in heat lure.

I shared a Bear Camp in Maine with Terry and Jen this pass fall.  I tell ya, Jen can flat out shoot!  I also remember asking Terry what his favorite hunt was.  His response was "any hunt that I've shared with my family".  This must have been one of Terry's best!

Terry, what a great hunt. I am so sorry for Jen. My heart goes out to her. I hope she sticks with it. A huge Congrats to Tyler! Not only for the bear, but for the decision to go on his mission. I would be proud too. What a great family you have, and if you guys ever want to come out here to hunt elk or muleys, it would be my pleasure to host.

Steadman, be careful now!  My oldest son is getting home from his mission in early October. I'll be in Wyoming hunting moose and Utah isn't that far. I could easily swing by Provo and pick him up and be at your door looking to go muley hunting!  :)   I'm sure my son would enjoy some wild time after 2 years in Belgium and France.

Seriously, thank you very much for the very kind offer.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and encouragement to Jen. She is doing OK and will recover. She is a tough little fart. We just got back from the local Conference Track Championships where she took 1st in pole vault, 2nd in 100 M hurdles, and 2nd in triple jump. Tyler also did very well and took 6th in pole vault, 3rd in long jump, and 5th in triple jump.

Well, the muleys are out, I didn't even draw a general tag, but I would love to take you guys after spike/cow elk. Provo is only a few minutes away, come on down, I can at least cook you guys a moose steak  :)
Congrats Jen!!

Thanks for the story and all the pictures, what an experience to share with your family. As Ryan once told me (while tracking a bear) "Bowhunting is a rollercoaster of emotions" and it sounds like you guys had the whole range.

Terry

My congratulations go out to Tyler for his great bear... I love the color on that one.

More important though, is that you tell Jen I'm really looking forward to meeting her and getting to shake her hand next spring in Portland... I love her hunting ethics and she deserves a big pat on the back..

The kind of hunter she is would be welcome in my elk camp any time... so would her dad and brother,,as long as mom brings the camera..

Besides, that picture of her with her big Gator is one I'll always remember.

Have you guys ever spent time in the thick woods chasing Roosevelts?  It could happen!!

Great thread! Congrats to Tyler! I would say Jen is tougher than most of the boys at the Jr Prom so at least their is solace is that! Keep your chin up girl so we can keep seeing that smile! You will get one next time.
