I shot one of his takedown recurves recently. The grip is absolutely incredible!!  Overall a very nice shooting bow!

I had a slammer take down with two sets of limbs.  It was extrememly fast and I shot it real well.  I sold it because I jsut do not like take downs and the mass bothered me.  Th bow was very impressive however.  I also sold a 68 inch longbow, with slight R/D one of his older models.  That bow also was such a sweet shooter, I wish I had not let her go.  YOu can not go wrong with one of Leon's bows.

Yep, and I am happy.

Leon lives about 40 minutes from me and I see often.

The bows are nicely finished, made from some very nice wood, bamboo and such. They cost a small fortune but I have thought of it as money well spent.

He does have a new shorter slammer that shoots great. Smooth all the way back to my draw. ~29" While some may say I am advertising for Leon, the bows are great. I have not shot one that I didn't like.

that being said, there are many great bows that I would like to shoot ACS, Zipper and Shrew.

I still don't think you can go wrong with Leon's bows.

Martin

I got mine last year in June  I couldn't be happier. I have owned   MANY custom bows over the last 40 years and this is by far the best . ( Not that others were not very good or even great)   but every category  is  superb.  Workmanship , quality of materials, design, and ab ove all  his imput and his ability to work with the customer  is great . Wonderful to deal with.  OH he is NOT paying me !!!!!!!!!!!       :D

I am a recurve guy, but I own 2 Leon Stewart Slammer takedown longbows. They are the only longbow that I can shoot consistently well.  Like the others have said, Leon is a great guy to deal with and the craftsmanship of his bows is second to none.

I have bought two Slammers and this year bought a BA Slammer, 56" with brown glass back and belly. I will not sell this bow! I gave one Slammer to my husband, and kept one, so we have a matched set. Now there is this shortie... plainer than my others, but what a shooter!

I've got a three piece slammer and it's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The quality, fit and finish and materials are top of the line. It's the best shooting piece of art I've ever owned. I sold the rest of my longbows because I've found a bow I'm completely satisfied with.

I have an older 1 pc.  Its 66" 55@28. It's Bamboo and Yew.  It's a sweet shooter.  I don't shoot it much anymore.  I like my 60" bows better.

I have had one of his R/D longbows for 11 yrs now and WILL NOT sell or trade it. I've shot about everyone elses over the years but have never shot one that was better. Leon just builds a sweet, great looking, great shooting bow.
