Stump shooting outing
« on: May 23, 2011, 06:33:00 PM »
Had to get out between rain storms this morning and do a little hiking/stumping. You guys in the midwest evidently know all about rain; for you Texans, rain is water that falls from the sky in case you haven't seen it for a while.
The aspens are beginning to leaf out, and the whitetails were everywhere.

These antelope were curious for a while...

but pretty soon they decided that discretion was the better part of valor.

Our spring runoff is starting in earnest; lots of Wyoming is under flood warnings, but nothing like you guys along the Mississippi. Our local stream will be out of its banks in a few days, but right now it just looks like normal spring runoff.

I did manage to kill a few stumps, and I made it home before the next rainstorm hit. Not a bad way to spend a morning.

Rain is in short supply where I live in southeast Texas.

Very nice photos. I envy you guys from Wyoming in the summer time, but not in the winter time.     :D

Fine looking country.  Makes me think about when I lived in Evanston.  We just about lived on Mt. Liz in the Wasatch.  Great pics, Thanks for sharing.
