Big Foot Bows and Kirk
« on: June 17, 2011, 01:22:00 PM »
Two days ago I had the privilege of meeting up with Kirk of Big Foot Bows at his workshop.  He let me pick his brain for awhile on bowyering and he showed me quite a few tips.  When it comes to building bows this guy has it figured out.  Kirk gave me the opportunity to shoot some of his bows and all I can say is wow!  These bows are awesome to shoot and have all of the characteristics a person is looking for in a bow.  They are smooth, fast, quite, and great in the hand after the shot.  The quality and craftsmanship really show when you look close at his bows.  His attention to detail and finishing quality is amazing.  If I had the cash right now I would definitely buy one of Kirk's T/D Recurves.  I just want to thank Kirk again for letting me see his workshop and teaching me a few tricks of the trade.

Luke

Kirk should be flooded with orders. When people start shooting his bows they will be saying where did this guy come from. His bows I would rank in the top ten performance bows in the world. Very near the top.
God bless you all, Steve

Thanks for the Kudos guys... I welcome visitors any time an my shop. please call ahead though....

It was great spending a bit of time with you Luke. Glad you came bye.

btw.....I put one of your first Talon bows in Luke's hands while he was here Sixby.

Every time my grand son comes over he attaches himself to that bow too, and i can't hardly pry it out of his hands at night.   :biglaugh:   ... Would you be offended if i gave it to him for Christmas? He just loves that bow.

I have met Kirk but not had the chance to see or shoot his bows.I think though from all I have heard by those who have you should give his bows a try.I think Kirk's bows has not had the attention they deserve . Mike

Hey Steve.... Alex came over with his mom on Fathers day and i told him the bow was his, but it stays at grandpa's house till he makes a bigger commitment to shooting it regularly.... i'll not have that beautiful bow tucked in a closet or under a bed somewhere.... he'll come around more often that way too.   :bigsmyl:
