Cade had planned to come with me, we're still trying to get his first fish, but his cousine was sleeping over. Glenbo couldn't make it as he was floating the same river with another friend of his to fish for smallies.
So I ended up by myself withgood friends, Tim and Gary K, and a friend of Timmy's.
We hit the river at daybreak...Tim and his buddy immediatly went to a spot where they'd gotten into some fish the evening before.
Gary and I, the 2 dads went off to search for some fish of our own.
River was up, so the bowfishing was very tough. But the fish close to shore, in the weeds, and calm shallow water.
Gary went up river, I went down and saw a couple fish in the weeds. I was literally within feet of a couple fish, following the moving weeds as they worked through them. But the depth of the water made it very difficult to see then.
I did manage a quick shot at one that showed it's tail, I estimated where the body was and shot, but came up empty.
When I got within sight of the truck I saw Gary(The Master) carrying a nice carp he'd shot.
If I ever had to put money on who I thought would bring in a fish in between me, Gary, or Timmy....I'd have to put my $$ down on Gary!
Then we hit another spot where it got real fun.
Since Gary had a fish, he tried hard to get me a shot and before long he had one spotted and called me over...the fish was just hanging close to shore....the shot was right on!
Then Gary spotted another, and he made a great shot.
Then I spotted weeds moving giving away the presence of another carp....I closed in, with Gary right behind me. I watched weeds moving within 6-10ft of me for a good 2-3 minutes before the fish finally revealed itself...I drew and shot, making good on another shot.
Gary saw another fish , but missed tough shot.
Next fish I made good on....
We started to move back toward the truck and I soon spotted another fish in a shallow cove, same spot where Gary had shot one just minutes earlier.
I called Gary over, as it was his turn, and he made a great shot, on video...but unfortunately wht fish got wrapped around a rock and somehow managed to get off.
Gary about to take his shot...
