Looking for shooting buddies in the OKC area
«

I love archery, but I have very few friends who are into it at all and none to the extent I am. Haven't been into Trad long but I am hooked and would like to meet others from my area who feel the same way.
Just looking for some people who would like to get together to shoot, and share knowledge with one another about this wonderful sport. Send me a PM if you are nearby and interested.
Thanks,
Scott..

There is going to be a traditional shoot at Stratford Oklahoma next weekend. Stratford is South of Oklahoma City and should have a good turn out with quite a few archers from the OKC area. I would enjoy shooting with you if you can make it.

Scott,
I am having the same problem here in Hinton. Everyone thinks I'm crazy and they are right-crazy about trad archery. It's hard to get anyone to talk about trad much. My son is slowly getting into it and quicker since he signed on to tradgang. Seems like every time a trad shoot comes up I am working that weekend. Just like Stratford it is my weekend to work. We are going to New Hampshire in July to see family and are going to stop off at ETAR in Penn on the way back. I can't wait to get amoungst some of the brethren and talk trad plus see all the bowyer's stuff. It would be nice to get together and shoot and trade experiences. H&H gun range there in OKC has a new setup for archery with chrono, paper rack, 20yard range and video shooting booth. That wouldn't be a bad place to meet with some trad guys and converse. They are mostly wheel folks but one of the archery staff guys there is on team Hoyt(recurves) and he will talk a little trad. One guy told me they reconize trad is streaming back and are in the process of moving more toward trad. Hinton is about 50 miles west of OKC but I drove to the city for years to work so driving in is not a problem. I'll be working in Okc next weekend(Sat & Sun) so if you want to give her a spin in the afternoon let me know. Jim

I'd be interested in meeting with y'all if you get something put together. I had knee surgery week and a half ago so I'm down for a little while but I hope not too long. I know a few guys around that hunt with trad gear but would like to meet more. Some time in the next couple of years I would like to go elk hunting with some other guys trad only. Wade

I live about 30 minutes from the OKC area and wouldn't mind getting together with some other people in the area. I was just looking at H&H's info on their website yesterday, might have to head over there and check it out. I am busy or out of town for the next couple weeks but would be interested after that if there are some people that want to try to get together.

Scott, check out the Bowhunting Council of Oklahoma. Google . There is a quarterly newsletter that has the schedule of a lot of memeber clubs etc. Another great place to shoot is the Backwoods bowhunters trad scrambles they started this year and the next one is July 16th. Then there is the largest trad shoot in OK at MCAAP on Aug 6 &7.
If you would like more info etc shoot me a pm or email.

My buddy was a member of trosper a few years ago. They have a good walk through range with shooting buts and nice lanes as well as an indoor range off I40. When he was a member he got a key to the patk range and could go shoot whenever.
