Some of you may remember our former business,  Keep It Simple Archery.  We shut it down back about 6 years ago. Well...we are back (this time focusing on our own products). We have completed our website, and I wanted to post an updated link to it. Additionally, I have been anticipating a few "business" changes in the line up of bows we are now offering.

1. From here forward, carbon is now offered as a standard on every adult bow we produce. One can elect to have a non-carbon bow made at a discounted rate, but because I have a very limited rate of production. I want to focus on quality over quantity and desire to produce the best bow I can. To do this, I would prefer for as many of the bows I make to have the carbon in them. My reasons for this are...carbon is a very stable material AND carbon enables me to reduce the limb's core by about 10%. This results in a less limb mass, which in turn results in enhanced performance and helps to eliminate handshock.

2. We are now offering various limb veneers. KennyM has been a tremendous influence on our ability to do this. He produces some excellent laminations and is able to grind them very thin and maintain excellent consistency. As a result, this allows us to use very thin veneers of hardwoods to enhance a bow's natural beauty while also maintaining the bow's performance...so as a result we have set up our new order form to outline such specifics (specifying how the veneers can be used).

3. We have expanded our line-up on traditional bows. We now carry both our original Protégé Longbow AND have added a new design, The Hunter series which is designed specifically for the bowhunter. Here are a few pictures of our new "Hunter series" traditional bow..

Given these changes, I figured if we were going to ever go back to  Keep It Simple Archery , the sooner the better...oh ya, we will be adding some interesting videos on our website in the very near future. I hope you check them out.

Thanks,

H. Lee Robinson

Thanks John. I am looking forward to it. I will be putting a picture of it on my website. I don't know if you saw it or not, but I put a link to your fine quivers, as well as Big Jim's and the Great Northern on the Hunter series page. A good bowquiver is something most bow hunters really appreciate...and I know all 3 of these (and a few others) bowquivers are good designs. There are however some out there I am not a big fan of so I like to send my customers the right direction.

Can't wait to get the quiver.
Until next time...good shooting,
Lee

Lee,

Good luck with the new name (old) name and the business decisions.

I want to say that my Protege Longbow really has me tickled pink.  Its so smooth and quiet.  The only other thing I can think of that brings me such a great feeling when I use it is my Winston Tom Morgan Favorite #4 Flyrod.   Like my Winston its just a classy, smooth, wonderfully executed example of what a longbow should be.  I have been shooting bows for more than 35 years and while I strayed from the Trad path for a while I'm glad I made the journey back and especially glad I found my Protege.

Best of luck to you!

Jeff, Thanks a lot for the very kind words. I am very pleased to hear it is working well for you. Was this the 66" bubinga, maple, and wenge bow that had the bamboo and red elm limbs (the longer one pictured below)?

Until next time...good shooting,
Lee

Yes, the one on the left.  In fact I had it out last night and finally got to try it with some broadheads I just finished fletching.

I'm shooting Trad Only 400's 31" long with 100 grain glue on broadhead inserts tipped with 125 grain Zwickey eskimos and 5" feathers.  The bow put a smile on my face as I was getting baseball size groups with this combo at 25 yards!   Guess I tuned my broadheads right ;^)  Shot three groups and they al went right where I looked.

One of these days I'll eat a couple of candy bars and get my blood sugar real high and go dig out my chronograph and see how fast I'm driving these logs...

BTW, we have two non-carbon bows in inventory that we are running a special on. If interested in something I can ship out immediately, they are both very nice bows that I would like to move. Thanks...
