Ron and KME
« on: July 05, 2011, 10:44:00 PM »
I was sharpening my new Zwickey No-Mercy broadheads when I noticed that the roller on my KME broadhead sharpener was flopping around a bit. Upon closer inspection, I found that the roller carrier was worn out. I had been using a lot of honing oil (more is better, right?), and I guess the particle laden oil got splashed up onto the carrier and wore it out. Obviously my fault.

I contacted KME by email and explained what had happened and inquired about getting a new carrier. Ron got back to me right away. He asked me to send him my mailing address and the new parts would be in the mail the next day, no charge!

I wrote him back with my address, and asked if I could pay using PayPal. He said not to worry about it, that a lifetime warranty is a lifetime warranty, and I was covered!

So this is what came in the mail today:

Not just a new carrier, but two complete roller sets! Talk about customer service!

I'm buying another KME sharpener to give to my brother. He's still on wheels, but he needs sharp broadheads too!

Thanks, Ron!
Chuck

Last fall, 2 weeks after getting my KME, I dropped and broke one of the stones.  I called Ron, during hunting season - and I think he was quite busy - I wanted to order a replacement from him.  His response, "don't worry about it" - 2 days later 2 new ones show up - no charge.
That is going above and beyond in my opinion.
Oh, he is also a great guy to talk with - who offers advice on any questions you may have about using his products to their best ability.

i "bump" into ron every year at the whittingham shoot, and no matter how busy he is at the kme vendor table he always takes the time to chat and invariably shows me a cool trick or two for sharpening knives and broadheads.  they broke the mold with ron, he's the best.
