old bow, new arrows, first grouping!
« on: July 07, 2011, 12:15:00 AM »
I haven't shot trad in 12+ years , I got into wheeled contraptions when I started hunting, got bored after a while and quit bowhunting the last two years. Now im back home to the traditional ways............And I have to relearn everything!!!!!!

I learned to fletch my own arrows and got the old curve a new string.  Its not tuned at all but couldn't wait any longer to shoot some.

Here is my first 3 shots, ways to go but ill get there, tuning will help. Either way im waaaaaaay addicted again and loving every second of it.

Nice shooting! I can remember my first set of arrows (which weren't even spined correctly). But I didn't know anything and shot them anyway. Glad to see you come full circle.

Way to go! I had a 3-year layoff from shooting my trad gear. Dang, I missed out on a lot of good times! Now, I have to force myself to take a day off from shooting!

Have fun!

Cody, Welcome back. You don't realize how much you miss shooting a Traditional Bow, until the second time around. I agree, layoff due too injury for me. Glad your back, keep shooting.

Those old bows throw carbons just fine.  Good shooting.

Same here.  It's been close to 20 years for me.  I started on a borrowed compound about a year ago, but it just didn't feel right, so off I went and found a mid 70's Kodiak Magnum, and the fun had begun!  I'm running carbons thru mine with good results so far.
