Tomahawk Diamond SS Photos
« on: July 07, 2011, 10:10:00 AM »
Got this Tomahawk Diamond SS in trade last week,  it is 64",  #50@28.   I have been wanting to try one of these bows, as I REALLY like the looks and design.   Ive shot a few similar designs, and would say this one is among the top for "speed", and is quiet.

I really like the grip shape and size,  but it may be a tad large for some folks.  The fit/finish are top level,  this one has what I would call a "hand rubbed" satin finish,  really shows the 'boo colors off well.

These tips I really like,  they arent as gracefull as some you would see on Dwyers, Mohawks etc.  but they are well thought out and provide a degree of protection to the string loop/eye.

I still like my Mohawk better, but this one may stay around as a back up!   Wish it were a 62"  #45!

some pics-

They are easy on the eye! Mine is a takedown, 58"s,50#s@28"s. Shoots great, smooth, quiet and is world traveled (went to Afghanistan with my verbally adopted son).

Beautiful bow! I have the diamond series woodland hunter. Best shooting bow I have ever held in my hands. I have never shot a Mohawk, But I don't think I need a bow any better than the "Hawk".

They are really well mannered bows, I love mine. Very easy to shoot. not as speedy as my Robertson or Great Northern but real smooth to shoot.

Just a thought...what not call Bill at Great Plains and ask if the bow weight can be reduced from 50# to 45#.  He reduced the weight on my GP longbow a while back.

REM<  i didnt even really think of that,  but good idea.  The limbs are already aggressively trapped, so im not sure how much # could be taken off.   I may keep this and keep my eyes open for a60-62"   45#.
