Steve Hohensee bows (White Bison)?

I see Steve had some more articles in the last issue of TBM,is he still building bows? He used to live close to St.Louis and I never did get to shoot one of his bows. If you got one let's see some pictures and your thoughts on them. Thanks Flint

Steve lives in Alaska now, and I think only builds a bow here and there friends if that.  He posts on here--maybe he will chime in.

Yeah, he lives in Juneau and the bow factory is shut down. I heard a rumor that he is thinking of moving to Beijing and starting his rock band back up!

I was just heading to the airport with tickets to Beijing, guitar case in hand.  Well, I guess I'll change my plans.

It's been years, maybe seven.  I have built or helped build about a dozen bows since I headed north six years ago just for myself and friends but it has been about three years since I have built any at all.  It was something that I really didn't enjoy all that much.

Watch for even a few more TBM articles in future issues.  I think I have two more in the pipeline plus a couple new pens and tablet off paper....

I have one of Steve's bows...kinda sorta.  My step-son has it to use for as long as he wants.  He'll be shooting it next weekend at ATAR here in WV.  It's never gonna be for sale.  It was my transition to the Longbow from Recurve bow, & I won it a long time ago in a special raffle.  One of these days, maybe I'll get to meet up with Steve & have him sign it for me.

I did do a snakeskin backing on mine.  did help it out a bit

Speaking from experience, a guy couldn't hit the side of a barn with one of those things.    

On a "little" more serious note, Steve puts a real handle on those bows. Not one of them little sissified grips that gets all squirrly in your hand that I see on so many longbows today.
