A fantastic meeting at the 3D range
« on: July 17, 2011, 06:41:00 PM »
I gotta share this with you:)
A couple of weeks ago I was at a 3D range near the capitol of Norway(Oslo) and I had this great experience.
I thought I had deleted the pic but did find it on my computer today:)
Sorry for bad quality but its taken with my Iphone!

It was a wednesday evening and I was alone out in the 3D range when I got this funny feeling that someone is looking at you

I was shooting at a roedeer when I suddenly did see two 1 year old moose'es that was wathing me from ca 40 yards.
I sad hello and they just looked at me:)

Then I was moving in their direction for shooting other 3D animals and they just moved backwards calm and gracious wheni moved and did stop between 20-40 yards on 6 more targets( I believe the nooded their head in salute for good shots as well   :D )
Finally all three of us headed for the cougar and thats where I did take this photo:)
The mooses did stand just above the Cougar whatcing my shot:)
I just had to take this pic!

Look closely and you will see the 3D cougar down in the left corner:)

Afterwards I did walk to my car and they followed me to about 200 yards from the car and walked away into the forest again
What an experience:)
With a healthy dose of madness and bad memory, life`s a wonderful journey

When I was in Maine (looking after my Ma's final six years) I used to see moose fairly often when hunting/scouting deer or bear. It was an area that wasn't open to Moose hunting. I bring this up because I also always talked to them, (as long as it wasn't breeding season) - just seemed like the thing to do - LOL. They most always would cock their heads back and forth and flick their ears like a dog or horse might. Never had the presence of mind to take a pic though - DUH!

On a 28 target field range in Alaska we often would encounter moose.  The adult cows with little ones sometimes made things a bit tense.  I did nock a blunt once but did not shoot  :saywhat:  ...Van
