string fuzz

Is this string ready for the trash? this is the only part that has this slight fray/fuzz.

I'm no expert but I would replace it.
Why risk a favorite bow on a $20 string?

Oh and when you take it off you may want to inspect the string grooves for any rough spots.

Have the string loops been waxed? Some people wax the string, but don't wax the string loops.

Waxed all over except the serving. The cropped pic makes it look huge, bear in mind those tips are only 1/2" wide just below the string. Those frays are like fuzz with no real loss of the strand.

As mentioned get silly with the waxing of your string.

When in doubt replace the string.

Lots of life left in it, IMO. Folks often forget to wax the loops because one has to take the string off the bow to do it.  Wax will lay those little frizzes back down.

The string that is not frayed looks melted together, like two big waxed strings - I'd throw it but I make my own. Maybe it's just the photo!

Not sure if that is fuzz or a small insect caught in the web  :D

Like Orion says, wax the loop, Pay Attention to your equipment, like checking the air pressure in your tires. It's a good question Swampy!

If you want to see fuzz, check out a pic of Byron Ferguson trick shooting in his last dvd!

He shoots for a living, too! I enjoy his shooting!

Waxing it makes it look better, but it is fuzzing. Just on the outer portion of the strands. If that's the case the dacron sure did not last that all that long, people getting 2 years out of a string?? I just don't get it.

Looks like a little more than fuzz, but it is a blown up pic.  Like was mentioned, the string groove looks a little rough, which could be causing it.

And since you asked, I would change it.

That roughness is just wax all up on it and everywhere.

If you take that loop in the pic, off the bow. Then grab both sides of the "thing sticking out" and twist against the bundle twists, you should if it is, see a broken strand!

If so, change it for a new one. Don't assume or let others assume for ya. This is part of the equipment we all need to be educated on.

The bow is useless without a string.

Ditto
Take it off and get a closer look at it. I have scars from a broken string.
