You should love the zipper,Bills long bow limbs with just foam core are extremely smooth.

Charlie, I was up at Bill's a month or so ago and shot many of his bows and you are really going to like those limbs. Once you shoot them the only thing you will like bamboo for is firewood. Let us know.

My opinion only:

At 25 yards: Not much difference at all. I don't think I would bother with it at this yardage. To me it is not worth extra $$$ on my hunting bows (same with Carbon).

At 90 meters (FITA distances) and when coupled with carbon: It could mean about on extra foot of flatter trajectory with the same poundage limbs. This is very helpful in wind and could also be the difference of staying within the sight window or not. Extreme weather changes also does not have much of an effect on newer foams.

As far as smoothness, I believe the design and the feel of the individual will have more to do with it then the foam. FWIW, I have had foam cores that do not draw so smoothly, and I have had wood cores that draw very smoothly.

This hot steamy summer we have had so far this is reason enough to spend the extra for foam.
Limb design does make a difference and every set of limbs are different In our limbs foam will be 3 fps faster than ActionBoo same speed as maple. Smoother and quieter than Bamboo or Maple. Foam $35 No brainer....

I have Bamboo limbs and C/F.  I can't see any difference.  Love them both.  Of course I am comparing Morrison v Morrison.  No lose situation:)
