Welcome to MO from the Kansas City side of the state. A bunch of great bowhunters around the St. Louis area and plenty of great places to bowhunt.

Another welcome to Missouri, been here my whole life and wouldn't have it any other way. Long bowseason we got here from September 15th to January 15th.
I'm nearly straight South of St. Louis off of Hwy.67 near Farmington, if you ever decide to take a trip down to Wappapello Lake, or Mingo National Refuge there's lots of deer and turkey down there. Be sure and hit me up before you head out and you can stop by here and pick me up on the way, I'd love to go huntin' with ya!
Besides, if you get one down on the ground your gonna need some help gettin' it out.

Or you can just hang out with me here on the river, I always got room for a fellow bow hunter.

If you're gonna head down to Semo's let me know.  I'm right about in the middle of you two, and can show ya where he hides at.  Besides I'm gettin' another bow for him to try out.  :saywhat:  He kinda likes that one....
 Well, catch ya later Keith,

You better hide that Bama Bow in the trunk or it might grow legs!!   :saywhat:

That bow is one sweet shooter!

Keith you could swing by here, then we could meet bayouman out by 67 and head down to Mingo for a day. I think he'd really enjoy himself down there with all the flooded timber they got and all the geese, ducks, cranes, that come in there every fall.......he'd feel right at home. I know one of the locals whos been hunting Mingo since he was just a grass hoppa and I'm sure he would meet us out there and point us in the right direction. He's also a Trad Ganger.

I might be talked into hooking up with you guys for a day of real ground pounding and arrow flinging as some fur or feather covered critters.

I'd love to have a duck stamp and/or whatever it takes to try for geese too!

I know I'm doing a self invite here but hey, who can blame me for that?...lol

Kurt if he see's how you and Charlie shoot it might intimidate him.  Keith if you can take some ribbing that is a great group.

I was the Wildlife District Supervisor, stationed at the Busch Area from 1992-1995. Great wildlife staff working the area and at Powder Valley Nature Center as well.

The archery range at Busch is one of the oldest in the country. It was originally put in by Earl Hoyt and his buddies in their archery club.

There are many dozens of managed ponds and small lakes on Busch to fish. The deer hunting at Busch and Weldon Springs (adjacent WMAs) is all draw but not too difficult to get picked.

If you want an inside contact with the agency, if you go to Busch during the week ask for Dan Crigler. He is a terrific Private Lands biologist. Tell him "Roy Grimes" sent you. He probably knows every property owner in the three county area and whether or not they have "deer problems" or not. Danny is also a bowhunter. He can tell you about his late night "coleman lantern" doe recovery back in 1994.

You may know this already. Since 1976 every Missourian pays 1/8th of a penny in sales tax on towards wildlife conservation. That used to be around $15/per person --it is probably a bit more today. The nice thing is this provides a very strong wildlife budget for Missouri and keeps your license fees down while providing very high quality service to wildlife enthusiasts. The MDC is one of the most highly respected wildlife agencies in the country.

Missouri also has a much stronger NASP than Lousisana does.
