New to Me Tall Tines
« on: July 23, 2011, 04:57:00 PM »
I had purchased a Tall Tines recurve off here a while back to see how'd I'd like it and loved how it felt and performed, but I found I wanted a bit more punch.  Thought I'd mention I had a slight problem with the last one and Mr. Wessel graciously helped me out with it.  Much thanks to him!  He couldn't be any nicer.

So!  I put the other up for sale/trade and luckily Gufunk to try a lighter weight bow and I ended up with this!

60" 51@27 so roughly 60@30.  Gray Dymondwood riser with Bacote accent stripe and Bacote limbs with antler tips.  An awesome performing bow and will never leave my hands.  The leather grip was done by Farr West leathers I believe it's called who did a great job.  I couldn't be happier.  I may end up like Steve-O as I'd like to get a 62 or 64" recurve from Wessel too.

Group at 25yds isn't awesome, but I'll work on that!  It is in the high 90's right now so it will be slowly.

Nice.
Not really familiar with those bows. Did the maker work under Paul Schafer? The lines look like a Silvertip.

Martin, I don't know if Wessel studied under anyone or not, but it is a great design and an absolute shooter.

Thanks all.  I had some 6075 carbon express terminators laying around and fletched them up along with 175gr up front seems to shoot pretty well.  I'm dying to try out some Simmons Tiger Sharks this season!

TradGang wraps and fletching from Lost Nation Archery and life should be good this fall.  :)

I always liked the striking similarities mayself!  The new 1-piece TT has a similar line also.  I prefer the TT grip over the ST tho and I absolutely love the way they shoot.  My favorite bow of the dozens I've shot.

I'm sure diggin your new bow!  What a looker!!!

With the number of great bowyers, it would seem reasonable to believe that 'keepers' should abound, yet we are so individualistic.

Good on you!

Nice bow and congrats!!!
