mineral blocks and feeders
« on: July 24, 2011, 03:14:00 PM »
Hey guys, I was just curious how many of you guys use mineral blocks and supplemental feed?  My hunting partners and I put out mineral rocks and feed corn during the off-season.  I like the idea of giving the does the extra calories (corn) to recoup from giving birth and the bucks the extra minerals during antler growth.  We pull the feeders two weeks before archery season and put them back out around February.  It can get a little expensive but I believe it pays huge dividends in the long run.  What do you guys think?  TRW

Here's a picture of one of our feeder/mineral sites:

I keep mineral blocks out but don't do corn. Too expensive for me.
