Blacking Out The Blind Bow

Last year,I wanted to darken the Amberboo Rose Oak limbs on my Bear TD,for use in the antelope blind.I wondered if anyone made black masking tape.Well,I did a search and found some,2"x60'.Don't ask me where I got it.I don't remember but it is about $7.

It worked real well,kind of looked like a textured epoxy finish over black glass.My goal was to peel it off after a month.I happened to remember it about 6 months later and low and behold,it peeled off,almost in one piece,with no residue.

This year I wanted to do the quilted maple limbs of my Mojostik.I didn't time it but it just took a few minutes to apply a piece on the back of each limb and trim the edge with a razor blade-maybe 10 minutes total.

Bet it wouldn't work on a skinned bow.  At least I wouldn't take the chance.

I don't think it would work on a skinned bow either.As it was,it stayed put very well.It didn't get subjected to any heavy rain either and probably never will but it feels like it might even handle that.The color of these bows without the black would be good for hunting around the field edges in the dry grass so I planned to just peel it off if I want to slip out of the blind and don the ghillie suit.In theory,there should be 30-40 applications in one roll.

That's a great idea, Jim.

You can, also, use Plasti-Dip in black spray. Spray on a couple LIGHT coats and when you're ready to remove it just rub with your fingers.
