Strap on quivers & Snake skins - Do you or don't you??

I have a set of limbs coming in trade that have snake skins on them (might keep them, might not)and it will be the first set I have owned with them.  I am not typically a skin fan so I don't have any experience with this....

I usually use strap on quivers, such as a Kanati, GN or Boa....Can these type of quivers harm skins on limbs?  Does it rub them wrong, lift the finish, etc??

Are there things a guy can do to help or prevent any issues (other than the obvious of using a different type of quiver)?

What say you guys that have had some dealings with this?

Never an ounce of trouble for me  
I use an EFA strap on quiver & it's never bothered my skins a bit.

Some of the Rubber straps will discolor the skins and riser.

It depends on the finish a bowyer is using. One finish that will do poorly is fullerplast and some of the catalized varnish type finishes. They absorbs water and will become cloudy. They will also absorb rubber over time. Good quality finishes like thunderbird and epoxy finishes will not be harmed. Most bowyers are using good quality stuff as evident by little problems with our model quivers. Check with your bowyer and hope he uses a non pourous finish.

Bob undoubtedly is one of the BEST, if not the very best at applying skins that I've ever seen; I'd listen to him. I have not, historically, been a fan of bow quivers either but.....I have an EFA strap on quiver that is absolutely tops. It has a strap/cinch system that is rock solid and no rubber to discolor. It is also sturdy yet lightweight.Don at EFI is a top notch guy to deal with also. Highly recommended!

It will do it to thunderbird also. Its like the oils in the rubber leech out and stain the finish black. We have been using Torginal (thunderbird) for a over a year now and rubber still stain it.

I learned the hard way as a result of using my GN strap on which over a short period left shiny areas on the flat finish of a set of limbs I owned previously. Now I wrap thin pigskin suede strips around the contact area of the limbs and then the rubber straps don't leave rub marks or residue and are secure.
