Got a new toy (canoe)
« on: August 12, 2011, 01:32:00 PM »
I got this 15'Dagger Reflection conoe from a older couple that does alot of canoeing. They had a large stable of canoes and wanted to thin down the heard,so I found about and tried it out.

It is in like new condition and it is weights 56# and handles very well.It is great on the water my son(7yrs) and I have had it on the water 3 times this week and he loves it.

I plan on useing it alot for those hard to get to bowfishing spots.

Since I live in Texas, a lot of duck hunters and bowfisherman use kayaks to get to those hard to reach places in the Galveston Bay complex.

I have a 16ft osagian and I love it- I have paddled it many miles catching fish, shooting ducks, trapping, and hunting!  I put a custom camo paint job on mine to help it hide!

Nice canoe!  Besides being a great tool for getting into those tight spots for bowfishing (a favorite sport of mine) you can use it for bowhunting deer as well.  It's amazing how close you can get to an animal on the banks of a river or lake.  I can remember when my father took me out in a canoe when I was your son's age.  I can fully understand his excitement.  Have fun and be safe out there!

Congrats on the canoe!

My boys and I have just returned from the Northern Tier Boy Scout Camp. We canoed 75 miles. I loved it. Now, I'm jealous of everyone with a canoe. My son Mark woke up every morning and said, "Time to dip!"

I've got me a spot picked out this year that I'm going to to take the canoe into. I keep seeing me paddling back with a big rack sticking out and a smile on my face.

Very nice. Alot of the lakes here in KS have tons of public hunting around them. The best way to access it is from a feeder creek or river. The good thing is.......Its a downhill drag to your boat or canoe.

Have fun with it.

Nice find!  I was considering buying a kayak designed for fishing but a canoe seems so much more user friendly.

Nice looking rig. I have a kayak and a canoe. Built some outriggers for the canoe a year ago, they are very stable. Then I bought a 15 million candle power light and made some mounts at work for the light to mount on the canoe. I just have not had a chance to get out at night. But I have shot 21 carp from shore this season. Have fun with your new toy!!

Properly fitting life jackets, especially for your son, that are worn when out on the water. Just had to say it.
