Tree stand safety system (video)

With the season fast approaching, I thought I'd show you our system for being safe in a tree.

I love the video (and the theory), VTer. Nicely done/demonstrated. May I please suggest/request (for us slow and/or memory challenged folks) a discourse, "how to", and or pictorial on Material Sizes, Building/Tying the life line, and The Prussic Knot? Or a link to a Reference of that info if you have one.

I, for one, would like a life line system available on every tree/stand I climb. I am a firm beieiver in them but could sure use some simple guidance.

I heard that. I'd love it if you did and I bet a lot of others would too. Nothing beats a "handy referencer" when you are trying to get something right - especially when it comes to safety. Don't get to put too many stands up here unless you have deep pockets. They'll steal them off public lands, and private land is about gone except for high dollar clubs/leases. However I would like them on my "Home Range" stands (used for practice), and on any I might get a chance to put up. At my age (and really, any age) one can't be tooooo careful.

I can't stress enough (nor can anyone else) Tree Stand Safety. I found this really good (26min video) site by the TMA that should be reviewed annually.

However, I warn you that it does not include info on the installation and use of a life-line and Prusik knot, which I consider a huge safety aid. I am still looking for a site on that subject.

This looks to be a great, easy, and fast way to tie a Prusik Knot (on a life line or any other line/application). Your Prusik Knot rope should be a loop to start with.
