Sorry for the delay, Thanks everyone. I didn't mean to sound displeased with that goat. I was stoked. Truth be told, I had made my mind up to shoot whatever gave me a good opportunity. I was blessed it just happened to be mature. However, there are some real monsters running around out in that area. I'm no committed trophy hunter, but when you see some giants roaming around it changes you a bit.
Ron, Yes my longbow limbs are heavy poundage. I don't know why, but I seem to shoot longbows better at heavier poundages. Also I like to stand with my back to a tree when elk are coming in. It gives me more flexibility to adjust, twist or step to get a better shot. The longbow limbs are no issue if standing and are more forgiving in my hands.
As for the riser that's Golden Micarta. Dan had one piece of it left and wanted to try it. I wanted a bow with yellow brown tones and he suggested we try it. I love it! Maybe if I have time I'll post a picture and discuss it.
