Arrow spine for Owl Bow
« on: August 24, 2011, 07:00:00 PM »
Getting my first selfbow in a few dyas and its a good one ( Ed Scott sinew backed Owl Bow 5 curves model ) . Question is will my 60-65 cedars cut to 29 in. with 160 gn. point work out of this bow . The bow is cut 1/8 from center and is 50 lbs at my draw length . I know they would work in a 50 lbs longbow/recurve but I have no experiance with selfbows .
thanks for your help ,
Mike

Since that's a sinew backed bow you need to check your bow at different temperatures and log the bow's weight. You may need a couple sets of arrows spined for low/high temperatures. Depending on how much sinew is on the bow and being cut that close to center you may be fine with the arrows you now have. Play around with lower point weight if you need to........Art
