Just go this beaut the other day. It was made for me by a guy who's name is Brandon Sullivan. White Oak Burl with Walnut overlay on the handle. Blade design is perfect for what I need. It is 3/16 of an inch across the back and has plenty of drop and blade front on the nose ofthe knife to make for a good skinner. It is also heavy duty enough to make the gutting and quartering chores a breeze.
It is a big knife with the blade being 5 inches measured from guard to tip along the back of the blade, and the handle is 4 1/2 inches and designed to fit the hand. This knife has a lot of size and back bone to it and is a tad bit overkill for whitetails, but I would have traded every knife I ownwd to have it when working on an Elk or like sized game.
My hunt for the perfect knife is over.
