Way, way back in the 80s, my dad worked for Martin Archery in Research and Development.
I was slowing transitioning to traditional bows, and my last compound finally ended up with a wooden arrow rest that I carved to the shape of a perfect recurve arrow rest and epoxied to the metal riser of the Martin Cougar magnum. This allowed me to have a radiused shelf and perfect center shot.
It was really simple to make, and my arrows flew like darts our of it.
With a tiny bit of experimenting (use a simple piece of pine to experiment with) and a decision of how close to center cut you want to be, you can make one. For the final product, go with a nice piece of hardwood. If it's a fancy looking piece of hardwood like Bocote or Bubinga, so much the better.
