what arrows for a new bow

pick it up tomorrow. a few questions.

any brace height recomendations?
I am not sold on any point weight or BH. I think 2 blade around 145gr. what spine alum. and carbon do I need.
28 1/2 bop I draw 27-27.5 so about 45 or 46#.

also anybody else shooting a Hawg?

from the 3 rivers site it says 500 series bemans os eastons in carbon. so does  that sound  right to y'all? also is that = to a 2016 or a 1916?

Axis/Beman 500's may work, but 45# is right near the limit...depending on point weight, length and riser design, you may get them to go.  The 1916/2016 is the right starting point for alums...again, depending on riser design (center shot), you will end up with one of the two.

Remember to keep everything long and cut sparingly.  The bemans/axis can be cut from the nock end if you glue inserts with long set epoxy.

this thing is close to center. i have some woodies that are a tad underspined for it and I think they are 50-55 w/ 125pts.

I had never shot one of these bows before but I think it is faster than my old tomahawk and pretty close to my td ridge runner recurve.
this thing thumps an arrow.

The heritage 150 cut to 28.5"s will work for ya, but you will need at least 225 grains up front. The carbonwood 2000 cut to 28.5"s would work as well and ya could get away with 175 grains or so up front. Ya just have to experiment a bit with point weight if ya cut them to 28.%'s form the get go. I am shooting the 2000s out of a 47# Vortex cut to 28.75"s and 175 grains up front an dthey fly awesome. Shawn

Ya can buy brass inserts from Kustom King or 3 Rivers in 50 or 100 grains. I shoot a 50 grain brass insert and 125 grain points for 175 grains or a 100 grain brass insert and 125 for 225 up front, contrary to what some people will tell ya 5-10 grains is really not noticeable. If ya find ya want a 145 grain field point and a 50 grain brass insert for 195 up front you really will not notice any difference in flight from the 175 that I use. Shawn
