Will this change tuning
« on: September 18, 2011, 09:26:00 PM »
I have a tomahawk diamond series bow that I am going to have to replace the strike plate and arrow rest on. It came with calf hair for both but I would like to change to the bear strike plate and rug rest. Would this change the tuning enough for me to notice it.

On the strike plate it could if the Bear side plate is thicker.I would also raise the nocking point a little to compensate for the added thickness of the rug, keeping in mind, the arrow will settle down in the rug a little.I like the Bear rugs.

It is a little thicker but but not even by a 1/16 of an inch I don't think I am a good enough shooter to tell but was just wondering.

You might need to raise your brace height some. That will offset the additional thickness of the side plate.
