Bow is making a tink noise

I hope this is in the right forum. Looked like didn't belong in the shooter's forum. I hear a tink noise when I shoot my bow. I think it may be the arrow contacting the shelf. I shoot three under and have noticed that the bow is more quiet with split as well. It's a Rivers Edge Recurve. Any ideas on how or what I should change. I was thinking the nock needed to be raised or lowered ?

Try adjusting the brace height. If it isn't already, move the nock up slightly.

I tinkered for an hour the other day trying to figure out a tink noise. Ended up being my wedding ring.

Have even heard a tink like sound being generated by the string. No matter what BH or arrow  wt range from 9.0 -11.3 gpp, the tink sound was still there. String ends were even padded and a velcro was also applie to the recurve limb ends. Still a 'tink'.

Added a 2nd set of puffs - 'Tink' gone!

Are ya shooting aluminum? I hate that tink or ping it makes at the shot. Raise your braceheight a bit, they like a higher braceheight. Also could be string slap on the static limbs, quite a bit of string contacts the limb. I use a piece of velcro on my 3 RERs in the string groove. Let us know how ya make out! Shawn

More info, please. What type of shaft, what spine, what weight is your bow. Too stiff a spine can cause shelf contact. Do you cant your bow? If you cant the bow more than you do your string hand, you can torque the string, which can also cause arrows to contact the shelf. It seems to be easier to torque the string when shooting 3 under for me. I have to cant the bow less if I shoot 3 under, but it is still louder, so I stick with split.

Have you tried shooting a few arrows with a split finger draw? Try it and see if you still get the tink.

Lots of things can cause that kind of noise. I get a tink noise if I wear my glasses when I shoot...not sure what causes that, but the noise goes away if I shoot without my glasses on.

I shoot CX 45/55s I believe. I have shot them bare shaft and they shoot great so dint think it's the spine. I do cant a little. With split it shouts quieter and doesn't seem to make the noise.

You can dust the arrow shelf and window with talc, or baby powder and if the arrow hits it will leave a mark.

Is it a take down.  Are you getting limb noise?
