I guess plaid really does work

This year I have to spend 100% of my time on public land.
Went out on Sunday morning found a good spot and started working my way thru the woods at daylight. About 9am I here some splashing in the creek on my right then some noise coming thru the brush... I get ready and out pops...
A wheelie bow hunter! He walks by me at 50 yards and begins to set up a stand! He didn't even see me!
I had on no camp just a plaid shirt and some olive drab pants carring an Osage bow and bright orange arrows.
I guess plaid does work!

I have a dark green and brown plaid shirt I bought to try out. Good luck!

I would recommend going with all blaze orange to keep the other hunters away.

I have sat with all blaze orange and had people walk/drive right past me without seeing me.
It's not that we become good at hiding, its most poeple in the woods have no woodsmanship skills whatsoever. I once showed a guy my dead deer while we were standing 10 yards from it, he couldnt see the blood smear on the tree nor the deer below it, even as blind man couldnt miss. Then he proceeded to tell me there were no deer around.
