Kanatis are very forgiving of spine. You can get by with a pretty wide range of spine and arrow weights. Heavy arrows are also no problem. I shoot well over 500 grains (around 12 grains per pound) from my 46# Kanati, and it chucks them out with authority.
I also shot a deer with a 52# Kanati that I had and used a 1916 with a 125 grain Woodsman. No problem! Then again, as Jason said, 2016s shot equally well. I don't recall even adding tip weight to them.
I settled on the 46# Kanati because it shot through deer, hit where I pointed it, and was easier on my aging shoulders. It seemed that it just always went with me when I went out the door, so I sold the 52# to another member here because it was a shame to see it on the rack instead of in the woods.
