After I posted about getting the call from Big Jim about my new bow I recieved about a dozen PM's about times. I started to respond to a few but I type so slow it would take forever so I'll just put out this post.

I ordered mine about Febuary or so. I know it takes a while and I, like all of you, are like a kid on Christmas Eve.... Ya just can't wait  :)

Im with ya ...trust me. Now I can't speak for Big Jim but Im just assuming here. With demand comes a low supply... especially with really good hand made bows. His bows are awesome!!!!!

But with talk comes more buisness.

They are def worth it!!!!!

Im guessing he is prob on a 10 month back order or so. So my answer would be order early!!!!!

Big Jim will probally chime in and give a definite answer.

Like I said though.... They are worth it!!!!!!

So sit and wait.....!!!!!

Good Luck Out In The Woods!!!!!

I can not help but believe that many bowyers feel the pressure for delivery.

Many thanks to the bowyer's like Big Jim that adhere to quality first.

Seven days a week I wake up thinking about what I have to do in the bow shop and every night I put my self to sleep counting and figuring what I will have to do the next day on bows. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I wouldn't have it any other way and yes, I take time off to hunt when the feeling gets me and I plan a couple of hunts out of state a year. Life is great!
I give estimates on delivery times and do my best to be acurate however I am also optomisitc. I am not a negative person and always believe that things are going to go well. Problem is that they don't always go that way.
I get LOTS, and I mean LOTS of calls and emails. I enjoy these and spend as much time as I can afford talking with customers weather it is about bows or arrows or deer, moose, elk......yadayadayada. Of course this also costs bow building time, but a guy has to have fun some times.
I have never intentionally given guaranteed delivery times or promises. I have been honest in projections but have unfortunatly missed many times. I am working on this and have moved my projected delivery dates to about 10 months.

I can't help but thinking that a lot of boyers go through the same issues. We mean well, but takes many years to learn that we aren't really in controll of our schedule.

If you are interested in a bow, there's no time like the pressent because if you want it before next hunting season, it will do you no good to wait until July to order.
Thank you for your patience.
Still having fun, BigJim

Big Jim thanks for giving us an insight on the bowyers buisness end. You guys are true craftsman and deserve a big thanks for the sport we enjoy.

LONGSTYKES

Dave, I got my call regarding the build of my TC. Big Jim says it will be a few weeks until I see her.

Really looking forward to finally having her in my hands, too look her over and admire the woods and workmanship.

She'll be a great shooting bow I bet. Well worth the wait.

I agree, it's not just building bows as fast as you can.  There has to be room / time for experimenting.  If not, 20 years of experience really translates to 1 year of experience 20 times over.

And I def agree about taking time to go in the field..... after all if your not out in the woods then it is all for nothing.... thanks again Big Jim.... and yes I think I will put in the order for my next bow now....

Good luck All!!!!
