Honey Whats that poping?
« on: July 09, 2007, 09:16:00 PM »
I got boared today and gradded some blunt tipped arrows and a tennis ball and threw it in the back yard. I then started to rover with the blunts and everytime I had a direct hit the ball with the arrow it popped!!! I thought this would be great practice for small game this fall. Their was no damage to the arrow or the ball. This was quite fun and the look on my wifes face priceless especialy when she saw me connect.

Glad you found the tennis ball toy. There's a bunch of us that shoot tennis balls. Charlie Lamb got me started. At Texas Sweat we had archery tennis matches that were much more akin to golf with a big ugly green ball. It looked like a green piece of carpet when Joe Coots got finished with it!  :bigsmyl:

I have found it fun and good practice and I'm hearing the "POP" more often!

Oh...I thought someone was impersonating the Pope.

Anyway....It's all good practice.  I like to shoot at the apples from the June drop here.  Plenty on the ground and they make the arrows smell good without breaking them (the arrows that is).

Golf balls!  Smack 'em good with a blunt and they really take off.

Something not to try is a big rubber blunt and a basketball.  The ball goes flying but the blunt comes right back almost faster than it got there. Stupid hurts but I refuse to wear a helmet.
