Bow sensitivity
« on: October 07, 2011, 05:47:00 PM »
I can shoot my 60" impala very well! When I started shooting my 1970 (56") grizzly (same # draw) I shoot too low but my left to right is great.

Can some bows be MORE sensitive to release than others?
Is it possible that my release isn't as perfect as  it should be, therefore causing my elevation to differ?

I use a glove right now. I'm thinking about seeing how I like the grizzly with a tab style release. I shoot all my bows split finger.

Any input is welcomed. thanks again for all the help from the tradgang.

Speaking for myself, I've found shorter length bows are harder to shoot accuracy wise than longer length bows at the same poundage.

This is the one of the reasons why I love to shoot a 66" recurve.

Shorter bows and bows with little center cut tend to be less forgiving of poor tuning or less than perfect release.
Shooting low with the same arrows and tuned for the bows usually can be fixed with nock adjustment (down a hair at a time).

Anybody feel that a tab promotes a smoother release than a glove? And I know its a matter of what works best for you...just curious if majority feel there is a significant difference.

I've shot both tab and glove. Started off 47 years ago with a glove. After awhile, the glove got a groove and two ridges. The arrow had to hop over the ridge upon arrow release.

Switched to a tab six months later and with no groove or ridges to contend with, I got a cleaner release which facilitated in better accuracy.
