CE Heritage 150/250/350? UPDATED

Well I got my 150's cut down, had to cut'em to 28.5" and there still a tad weak but not much. So they 28.5" 100gr brass insert, 150 field point, 10" wraps 5" feathers. I can take them down another 1/4" but like I said there just a tsd weak. But thats with 5gpi tubes I haven't tryed them with out the tubes to see if the stiffen up any. Right now I fighting with my bare shafts hitting 5-6" lower then my feather arrows. I has moved the nocking point up and down but there still low, going to play with the BH and see if that will chang any thing. Just wanted to update on how this was going.

Forgot to ask, because there slightly weak can I build out the side plate a little to help?

Ya want a slightly weak bareshaft as when y afletch it up it will stiffen some. If ya are low. move nock down a bit. Shawn

I shot them tonight with broadheads, and they hit 6" to the right of my feild points, fletched. My bare shaft hit 2-3" right of fletch FP. I can take about 1/2" more off and thats it. I tryed both 150gr and 125gr broadheads and they hit togther. So I might have to take the brass insert out and put the aluminum one back in and see what happens, but I like the idea of the higher FOC. I'm thinking I should have went with the 250's but I think with a dacron string the 150's are right. I think with this bow and string I'm on the fence with both the 15-'s and the 250's they need to make a spine in the middle of them two.

All I can say is your results are very unusual. To shoot 250s cut to 30"s most guys need to be shooting a high performance recurve of at least 55#s with no less than 250 grains up front. Shawn

why not try 100 in the point (150 total)?  Or even 125 total.  If they are showing weak, take the point weight down.  Easier than pulling inserts.  For mass, you can go to weight tubes that don't change spine.

BobW, I have weight tube in already, my brass iserts are 100gr plus the 150gr tips for a total of 250gr. I brought the BH up to 7 1/4" and that help and shortened my draw about 1/2". Now my bare shafts are hitting right with my fletched arrows, but I still see them ever once in awhile fly with the nock to the left in flight, could be bad release, but there hitting the same place. Broadheads are hitting real close to feildtips. I raised nock put more and that took care of the bare shaft hitting low, must not have went far enough the first time. I think with a little more fine tuneing and practiceing my form  more I should be good to go. By the way all this is at 20yrds thats about as far as I want to shoot anyways, maybe 25yrds tops and that better be a nice relaxed deer slit quartering.

The side plate idea didn't work made my groups open way up.
