new Widow

The boys at the Widow works have revealed that they will be offering a new bow for the 2012 catalog.

There is much speculation about what that bow might be.

What do you think?

3 piece long bow?

Entry level bow?

ILF?

3pc LB, now that would be a winner.

That would have been my guess. I wish they would give foam and carbon a try in their limbs!!! How awesome would that be!!!

I would love to see them offer a 3 peice longbow too, with back mounted limbs like their recurve of course.

I'm hoping for a shorter hybrid longbow (think "Shrew").  I wouldn't be hating longbow limbs available for the takedowns either...Mike

Don't know what to actually speculate since BW has had many requests for 3 pc LB. My guess would have been that the 3 pc LB would have preceded the PCH.

I would be inclined to believe that the PCH has been quite successful, thus another fine business decision.

They have also been approached frequently with regard to offering a carbon limb. BW's response for the last few years is that they are positive on how not to build one. They have been testing for quite some time and do not wish to release something until actual benefits are discernable.

While not a die hard BW devotee as many, I can say with confidence that my PCHX has much more than surprised me.

I too ,will be looking forward to the unveiling.

Friend, you are very insightful.
They say ,however that foam will not be in the offering.

I hope for a short "shrew like" RD long bow or a bare bones recurve.

Either way I'm sure it will be very thought out.

I posted on the LW last year that I would love a PCH with LB limbs.  I kind of got laughed at a little bit.  Didn’t seem like a good idea I guess to most who replied.  So I got a Wildcat.

I am with Mooseman on the longbow limbs that would fit the recurve riser, be it PMA, PSA, or PCH.
But realistically, it ain't going to happen.

Most recent post from Blacky says its not an ILF.  He will be unvailing (one black out block at a time) the bow soon, I guess on the Widow Wall.... (see thread on WW)

It is interesting to speculate.  I would assume that they have determined that there is a market out there that BW has not yet tapped into, as a business simply cannot afford to produce something that provides some 'romance', but doesn't sell.  I would have guessed an ILF bow.  The BW guys told me a couple years ago that it's nigh unto impossible to build longbow limbs for their current risers, and achieve the results they demand.

But they've got some good options for the short bow market already, in the PSR and PCH.  Could the new model be a 3-piece LB on a newly developed forward-mounted riser???
