Fletching Help

How far from the nock do you guys start the feather on a 31 inch arrow? Do you use 5" or 4" feathers 3 or 4?
Hopefully you will see me as a better person today than I was yesterday..

Arrow length doesn't affect how far the fletch is from the nock, mine is 1.5" from the end of of it. Just make sure you're not gonna make noise drawing back on something...

I use 3 5" feathers...

Making arrows is fun ain't it?    :campfire:

For the most part I use 3-4" feathers placed one inch from the end of the shaft. one inch plus the nock gives me plenty room for my fat fingers.

What is a advantage of using 4 feathers over 3?

1-1/4" from the nock gap (and my arrows are 31" BOP - just like yours. Three 5" feathers.

The more twist, the more noise. Just enough to stabilize, don't over-do it.

i do 1" from the valley of nock to back of feather with 3 5" feathers witha left helical. the helical helps for better broadhead control and stabilization in flight plus is a little more forgiving
"SHOOT STRAIT" - something im still working twards

So with 4" feathers how much twist? 1/8 3/16 or 1/4?
Hopefully you will see me as a better person today than I was yesterday..
