Why Not a 4 BLade Head?

Hi guys. I am wondering why we don't shoot 4 blade heads for hunting? I am new to this traditional stuff and just curious. I did speak to the owner of "SLick Trick Broadheads" he said they work fine out of traditional gear? Blessings

you can use what ever you like, there are many people that use two, three and four blade Broadheads. I like two blads since they are easy to sharpen.

Its just like razors for shaving. I know some who still use a single fixed blade and, I think, the marketing folks are somewhere up to 4 or 5.....
A well placed shot doesn't rely on blade count.

I've killed deer with 2,3,4 & 6 blade heads and they all died. That being said, if they still made the old glue on Bear Razorhead it would be all that I would use. Since they don't I shoot the 200 gr. Ace heads and get the same results as the others mentioned...the deer still die.

some people do shoot 2 blade heads with bleader blades it then makes it a 4 blader it will in most cases penetrate better than a 3 blader a 3blader has to break a bone in 3 planes 2 blader only 1 plane and a 4 blader in 2 planes iff you push the heads through a piece off paper youl se what i mean i shoot only 2 blade heads because i know that a bad hit in bone is alot more likely to punch through in to the vitals did some penetration testing on some deer with a friend we shoot both 3 blade and 2 blade heads in the shoulder blades the 2 blades went straight through and some times even through the shoulderblade on the other side to. the 3 blades did not they got stuck in first shoulderblade arrows used beman mfx 340 250 grains upp front total arrow weight ca 640 grains bw plv 62#@29 cheers cody

Buy some old Bear heads w/ bleeder blades if they match your field point weight.
They have worked for a long time, now.

If you are concerned about penetration, nothing comes close to two blades. That's been proven many times. Read the extensive research reports by Dr. Ashby on this site.

I've been shooting 4-blade Zwickeys for more than 30 years. Used them on everything from rabbits to bear and moose. They work just fine. Lately I tend to use two blades when I'm hunting out of tree stands, because I think it's a little more likely to make it through a shoulder blade if I make a bad shot and shoot too far forward.

what do you all think of the slick tricks?
What about the trophy ridge bunker busters?
I think the Trophy ridge are 3 blade heads...

Heads like the "slick tricks" and "bunker busters" are geared toward compound shooters. Not the best choices for recurves and longbows.
