Good Luck charms!
« on: October 31, 2011, 09:39:00 PM »
Anybody have them? Well I do. I use to have a lucky camo sweat shirt that was in ALOT of trophy pics through the years but some how it shrunk. I still have it, can't throw it away but can't wear it either if you know what I'm saying.

Long story short. I've got twin daughters that are now 23 years old. Neither have shown any interest in hunting but definately not against either as the evenings we have deer meat on the menu if your late your going hungry! When they was about 6 I bought them a book on making braided necklaces and such out of string and hemp! Good lord almighty they took to it big time. Well somehow being poor folk AND folks that would rather make you a present than buy you one my christmas present has always been a bracelet made by them for good luck hunting. Man have they WORKED! I could tell ya tales but my favorite was a caribou hunt years ago. Lucky enough to take two in a tough year and both times as posing for hero pics the braclet slid off and fell on the animal during pic time. Cold chills ran up my spine as I heard the camera click as I slowly watched the braclet in slowmo fall to the animal.

Anyhow it's been a tuff slow year bowhunting wise. It's probably been the least amount of bowhunting I've ever done in some 35 years of bowhunting. What few times I've been out have been slow and by now I've usually put a couple in the freezer. But I'm ready to take some vacation time and my 23 year old daughter comes out and says "hold up your arm"! Man I feel like THOR except I'll be carrying my usual bow! I'm pumped, here I come OHIO!

A bazillion years ago my wife gave me a little red glass heart about 1" wide.  I've carried it every day I have a pocket for about 25 years now.

I guess that counts.

I carry an arrowhead I found while blood trailing the first deer I shot with a stone point with me everyday. It was literally splattered with blood when I picked it up in that field and I just figured it was to much of a coincidence to not be lucky!

I wear it on a braided thong at all times except sleeping and showering and have for about 12 years now.

Cool story adeeden, to be honest I'm not sure I'd take that off sleeping or showering!
