2 blades for moose??
« on: November 01, 2011, 12:45:00 AM »
I would like to know what you guys think. I would like to get 2 blades BH to put on my new Surewood arrows that Snag made for me and I was thinking of Abowyer Wapiti 175gr, a little wider than the Brownbear... Any suggestions, I shoot a 62",63#@30", caribow Silverfox, and like I said they will be mainly used on moose, maybe caribou.

Your bow and arrow combination sounds exellent for moose.Get them razor sharp and put them where there suppose to go you should have a very short blood trail,All the best.

David... any broadhead you chose will do the job with your set up. Just shoot straight and keep 'em razor sharp.

I am a fan of the Brown Bears especially after our Elk hunt, and with your kinda' power either will do fine. Don't forget the camera!

I used a 220gr muzzy phantom. 55#@32" 645 grain arrow.
Your ste-up should be more than enough. Remember, shot placement is everything so shoot what shoots the best and most consistant.

I used a 58# bow, 145 gr Journeyman Eclipse, total arrow weight around 550 gr. I shot my moose through his heart, then broadhead broke off side front leg.

I think your set-up will be great. Good luck!

Shot this moose with Razozrcap 3 blade. She took 3 steps and went down. Since you are using wood and if I were in your shoes I'de be looking at the glue on Woodsman Elite.

With the big moose in Alaska I went with the Brown Bears and 700 gr arrow with my 52 @ 30 1/2" ACS ILF bow.

Did get a shot but knew that I'd get two holes if given a chance.

Your rig sounds fine and with any of the top grade broadheads should do great.

Take pics.

James: I used a 60# DAS with Winex limbs...340 Beman 29" MFX and 200 grain RC. Arrow weight was just over 600 grains...maybe a bit less. Would have gotten a pass thru but hit the opposite leg bone.

I used the Zwkiee Eskimo on my moose and caribou.  Also my grizzley and Mt. Lion.  Didn't have any problems with any of them.
