Ground hunting in canary grass using a ghillie

I will be doing some ground hunting in my Rancho Safari today, and where I hunt it is marsh filled with canary grass. It's  great concealment, but when I tried sitting on the ground, the grass is tall enough where getting a shot off has me concerned due to how tall it is. This time of year the grass is dying off and has fallen down considerably, but it's still armpit high when sitting in a chair.

For those of you who do this type of hunting in the "marshes" of America, could you give me some tips please. I don't want to risk standing up when a deer is near, and not sure if I should cut " shooting lanes" in the grass.

I hunt CRP that is tall switchgrass, you need to make some shooting lanes.

I make it a point to knock down the grass in my proposed shooting areas, a few days before. or at that time but while wearing waders, which I often do in the marsh I hunt. I will sit 10 yards downwind of a runway and knock down a shooting lane.  If it is quiet and brown,  you can hear deer approaching,  otherwise you really have to stay on your toes.

Make two or more shooting lanes from where you're sitting out towards where you plan to see a deer. When a deer walks by one of the shooting lanes, you will have time to draw your bow before it gets to the next lane.
